Try the PIAA h3 ultra white 4150k. Word is that they are the closest match to the HID.

You need to have Adobe Acrobat reader to veiw it. If you have a dial up modem just wait a little while. It took like 2min for it to show up on my work comp which is dial up, but it does work. PIAA's look nice but wait til you see my car at night

if you dont go with a kit, what is the highest temp you should go up to when looking to replace the lights without melting anything on 2K max?

I used a little extra patience and was able to view the link. The fogs look nice but sorta yellowish. Is that fixable with a diff bulb?

Yes you can use a differnt type of D2R bulb in them. That kit is the 4100K which is pretty close to heat range of sunlight. Also check this out, look on page 5 of my homepage to see the 6500K HIDs in my fogs, digi-cams have a hard time capturing the true color of HIDs. You'll see what I mean when you see mine during the night. It appears to have a greenish hue to it in those pics but in person its purple.
So diff bulbs can be used, only hard pard I say is finding a good place to mount that big ballast for the 35watt kit. I used the 21watt kit and I had a hell of a time mounting my ballasts. I used the double sided tape and a angle drill and mounted them with bolts/nuts as well. I dont do half @ssed work what can I say

H3 bulbs, But wanting to see better in the rain, I put HelioLite yellow h3 in. I have the 02 HIDs, but still can't see much in the rain because the higher color temp lights just get reflected.

Im thinking about using the yellow ion crystal bulbs from PIAA so my fogs will actually serve a purpose.

The ion crystals put yellow light on the ground, but from far away look grey-ish to green.

Well when is the last time you've seen alot of fog here in Phx Maybe once yr? I left my fogs pointed toward the ground apprz 10ft in front of the car, so even though its HIDs its still putting quite a bit of light on the ground. However Yellow light does increase visability, same reason LeMans cars run bright as hell yellow lights, but in real life 99% of the time fogs arnt necessary, just there for looks.

I'm looking to upgrade fog bulbs as well. I dont want to shell out the money for HID fogs. So right now i'm looking at Piaa super whites, xtreme white and super plasma. I think i'm leaning towards super whites. Reason for super whites is because I want to make the fogs brighter without adding any color. Who knows the other night i wanted to get the plasmas.

Get the 4150k extremes from PIAA thats the best color for your HID's.

The most popular ones are the PIAA Extreme whites or the Super Plasma's.
Check out page 2 of my home page. I have the Extreme white fogs and plasma headlights.
