Any HID thefts of 02-03 maxima in New jersey? Princeton, Atlantic city, kendall park??? Where are most of the HIDS being stolen? Thanks.....

Just planning to go there im gonna drive there to visit.

Well in the NY/NJ its been the worst, they have been gettin hit with HID thefts left and right and the most commonly hit car is ours. IF you can possibly park in a garage then do so, try not to leave your car somewere out of veiw too long ect.. It doesnt take too long. If its possible to avoid taking the max, then dont take it. I may be paraniod about it but ive seen too many people post they lost their headlights for the 3rd or 4th time.

This sight in NY has been too common.

yeah that guy would be me.....the thefts around here are crazy ...its crazy ....now ive seen about 5 or 6 2002 maximas with the whole front bumper, headlights and foglights changed to the 2001 because thats the only sure fire way that u wont get hit

It appears to be less of a problem the further south you go in NJ. I live in Somerset (near Princeton and Kendall Park) and I havent heard much about HID theft in this area. Although my Max is garage kept, my neighbor has parked his 99 3.2TL in his driveway for the past 4 years and has never had a problem.

Actually two days ago a coworker of mines got his HID's stolen from his 2k3. The remarkable thing was it was in broad daylight and he was gone no longer than 20 minutes away from his car. By the way this happend in Demarest, NJ (Bergen County)

So it is okay in this area from what people are saying. Any other answers would be appreciated.

Dude... anywhere in NJ/NY is an HID theft area.

The only anti-theft kit for HIDs in NY/NJ is AE headlights.

I think Princeton would be alright.

Why do you plan on going other places to steal them?? j/k...I havent heard of anything down in south jersey...I am in AC alot as well and havent seen or heard anything as well

You can clearly tell when your going to be in a town where there might be a problem..Newark, Edison, Rahway..and maybe even New Brunswick....but Princeton you definatly won't have a problem considering 70% of the cars have hid's.. in that town everyone either has a bmw or a benz. I live in a town near Princton..(Montgomery) and I've never heard of any hid thefts in any of the towns around me I would know because every little thing that is stolen is put into the newspaper...be safe..

Yes I know Did you ever get the AE headlights in or you still rollin with 2K2 HIDs? Peronally I have always thought the front bumper of the 2k-2k1 looked better then the 2K2-2K3 if need be just switch it out and get the AE lights with HIDs in them. A few 2k2-2k3 guys did try the 2k-2k1 light but kept the stock bumper and still got jacked, hell a few 2k-2k1 guys have even gotten jacked just for good measure!

Last year at Turnersville Nissan a row of 2k3 Maxes had their lights stolen. But, regular occurences of theft in the South Jersey area of HID's has not been reported. I am thinking the thieves take a roadtrip from NYC, North Jersey every once and awhile to "harvest" HID's. Just my theory.

I have a 2K and live in Newark. They tried to take mine(idiots)but they got chased away. I got away with only a scratch on my hood. I personally think that kids were stealing them and selling the units to some crooked custom shops. Kids learn quickly in Newark. I have heard stories of them going into junkyards (Newark has alot of them) and practicing the fine art of breaking steering columns. You see many old Civics and Jettas with HID conversions in Newark . The lights are worth more than the cars.

Hey, why do you think Manhattan and Staten Island are not hit, since they are also part of the 5 boro? May be the streets in Manhattan are better lit, a lot of people walk the streets 24 hours a day? As to Staten Island, a lot of cops live there?

no i am sure they are hit as well, i just didn't want to include every single borough or city, just naming main places. Also, many people in Manhatten don't own cars.
