Auto down window problem

I know I have seen this problem before but for those who had their auto roll-up feature mess up and gotten them fixed, what did the dealer replace? I'm talking about when you use the auto roll-up and the window goes up and then comes back down partly automatically. Thanks for yalls help.

There is nothing to replace, the limit switch needs to be adjusted. This requires opening the door panel. Does your window reverse if you start with the window all the way up then you click up to auto-up? Seems fairly common with maxima.

Is this something that I will need to take to the dealer to address? I thought i've seen this talked about by some people. My car was working fine until just now. Its a little over a year old.

there was a thread about this a couple of weeks ago, all they did to fix it from coming back down a bit is to press a reset switch on the motor. cant rememeber if they said the reset switch was on the motor or not, but you do have to take the side panel off to get to it.

It sounds like your window limit switch... the auto reverse feature only works when you use auto-up. If you raise the window without clicking to the auto-up position does the glass stay up? If yes, the problem is the limit switch inside the door. This is just another common problem with all-to-problematic-maxima (in my opinion). All I can say is it's a good thing the maxima is cheap! Who would put up with all these problems in a $30,000+ car? (power window regulators, chipping paint, warping rotors, MAF, wind noise, fogged headlight covers, hood shudder, etc.).

can you hear the window relay click when you press or lift the button? if yes, see if your headlights dim or if idle speed changes at all when you press or lift. If you don't hear the relay it could be fuse or bad relay. I assume the passenger side is okay? Maybe you can swap relay or fuses to chase this down.

I can hear the relay. The idle speed and headlights dont seem to dim. Passenger side is fine. I will try to swap the relays and see if that works. I just hate to bring my car to the dealer after hearing all the horror stories..
