i just got this put on my car before i brought her home and was wondering if anyone else on the org has it? it saves me 20% off my insurance and if you get the best its 35% off insurance...not bad i guess. and for those who don't know what it is, its a gps security system for your car..

 

Bought my car with this already installed. Anyone have experience activating it and getting the discount? I called the number on the "hidden" box (tucked between far left heat vent and instrument panel) and asked them to activate it and they said I have to go to the dealership so they can get the serial number off the box. I said "I found the box and I'm looking at it right now" and they said dealership has to read them the number off. What the hell?

 

Never heard of Guidepoint before so I went out on the web and every review I found was negative. Not even a mediocre. The BBB gives them an F rating (their lowest).

Sounds like a person should save their $500 or go invest it in Lojack.

 

the general information i get from anyone i've asked (car audio shops, dealership, etc) is used car dealers install this to track your car for repossession purposes if you default on a payment.
