I want to get rid of my speed limiter without modding my ECU. I figure the easiest way to do so would be to replace my 99 GXE ECU with a 99 SE ECU. However, what I don't know is whether or not any 99 SE ECU would have NVIS and therefore would preserve vehicle security...

Anyone know how to tell?

Can't you just cut one wire and be done with it? Check the faq's, I'm not sure...

the ECU HAS NOTHING to do with the vehicle immobalizer. AS long as you get a 99 SE ECU that matches your car you should be fine, meaning if your calispec get a cali spec ECU. if your Fed Spec get a fed spec SE ECU

So you are certain of this? If so, thanks.
