Great answer to the oft-posed question:
'should I keep my Gen5 or get a Gen6'? Also applicable to any new car purchase decision.....

I hate it when they do this... "In fact, the 2004 could be worth $3,000 to $4,000 more at trade-in time, said Paul Calisi, president of AAA New York's auto buying program. That extra $3,000 to $4,000 may very well completely offset the savings you'd get by buying last year's model."
But they don't factor in 2 big things...
1. you still have to come up with $3-4k RIGHT NOW
2. there's no guarantee it'll actually be worth that extra money in 5 years. What if the new design is a flop? What if the *next* design is the best ever? Either of those will greatly decrease trade-in, so you're banking on "maybe" money in 5 years versus $3-4k in your pocket right now.
I say, if you like the 2003, get it. If you like the 2004, get it. But don't think either is an investment because CARS ARE NOT INVESTMENTS! Yes, it's good to minimize your losses but it's also good to have the car you want.
