Need opinions on what to do???

This isnt for my car but my girlfriends...Wanted to see what you guys thought...She has a 2000 Altima (fellow nissan owner) and she went to get the windows tinted on saturday...When we were driving it today I noticed that her brake light was moving around in the back (the little one on the back deck)...I got in the back and saw that the clips were broken and the light is now out too...When I go back to the tint place whats my best bet to say?? Obvisouly they removed the light to put the tint around it, and they busted it in the process..If they give me $hit that they didnt do it what way shoudl i go? Tell them Ill take it to nissan to have them fix it and bring them the bill?? Sorry for such a long post, but Im pi$$ed now...Thanks guys..

Also if anyone has gotten work done to their car and something was damaged in the process what remedies did you go for???

This is something they should have asked you in the first place. Well, any reputable tint company will ask. It depends on the shop and their policies. I recommend you read the back of the invoice first and maybe you'll find your answer there. However, I would definetly take it back to the shop give them a big WTF? Peace_

They should have asked me what? I looked and the receipt I received only has the payment info etc...The place isnt one of those shady places you get it done...I am however most def. gonna give them a WTF?? Any other thoughts?

They're going to do whatever they want to do. So why not go in with the attitude that if you're extremely pleasant they will be more apt to fix the problem. If you give them the "big WTF" then they'll give you the big FU.

If that happens, then it doesn't hurt to be demanding. Ask them what insurance company they have so you can call them & arrange for an adjuster to come out and make an estimate. Just tell them the car wasn't that way when you brought it in and you want it fixed regardless.

I understand what you are saying about the big FU...At first I will see what they say...I spoke it over with my dad and he told me almost the same thing...I know the owner of the shop is away for the week b/c i called over there today...If nothing comes about on weds. I will ask for the name and contact info about him...That way they know I am serious...The shop had a customer satisfactory issue and hopefully they will see it that way...Would the insurance thing actually work??? The other thing I came up with is call nissan and get a price for the piece, and maybe they will consider fixing it themselves...

Yes, hopefully they will fix it themselves. Most all businesses carry insurance to cover things they break. That's what they pay insurance premiums for...for things like breaking a third brake light during a window tint. You would think it would cheaper for the them both in short term and long term to fix it themselves.
