what does an ecu do?

 

it does alot of things ... if u have an auto u can decide when the car shifts..... alot of other stuff

 

-adds weight, you can remove it if you want and free up some hp

-takes up room... if you remove it there's room for a tc/sc in a 2k2/2k3

-breaks often, remove it but be sure to put it back in before you take it to the dealer for warranty work

-makes the 'check engine light' come on... cut the wires to it and the light will stop coming on

-in an auto it retards the shift-points... remove it and it should shift faster
