Frankencar Ss Catback Exhaust

Finally, our exhaust is finalized. The pics are all available here http://www.frankencar.com/products/5...aust/index.htm i took lots of pictures for you guys. We just installed it last night and we will be confirming that it fits with our manufacturer today. He assured us 30 days from when we tell him they fit they will be on their way to us. We will be taking pre-orders at a good discount level in about 2-3 weeks and will have 100 ready to ship. Anyone who already has a frankencar intake(original owner) will be able to get an additional $25 off the posted price ANYTIME that includes off the pre order price. Regular price for the full exhaust will be $525. Pre-orders will be $475 and that will include stainless steel nuts and bolts as well as the required gaskets, we will also be including either two new exhaust hangers or two hose clamps for the existing exhaust hangers due to the fact that every car hangs every so slightly different. If you look in the pictures we put a clamp around one of the hangers to shorten it slightly to make the exhaust sit dead center and you will be able to adjust how it sits by about 1 inch depending on your car(i.e. different rear bumper, rear end accident ect....) The exhaust also fits well with the Custom Maxima Test pipe. I will be contacting him to work out a deal on those if anyone wants to order the exhaust/testpipe combo. Pricing has yet to be determined for the rear section and the b-pipe seperatly but we will have that shortly, pricing will most likely be $300 for the rear section and $250 for the b-pipe with intake customers getting $15 off those.
We look forward to getting these into the hands of you guys, i know it's been in the works for a while but it was definelty worth the wait. It's honestly the HIGHEST QUALITY exhaust system that i've seen, that's why i took so many pictures so you can see the attention to every detail. The most impressive thing about the exhaust in my opinion is the actual muffler canister. There is not one seam on the canister, it looks absolutely perfect. The only way you can get a muffler canister like that is to weld the seams, grind them down and then polish it along with the rest of the muffler, now that's attention to detail.
Any questions please feel free to ask.

I love the look but i want a sound clip. Plus i have a why pipe and that always adds extra noise so how much sound suppression is on that pipe and what is the quality of the resonator

The exhaust emits a small rumble at idle and slightly more sound under acceleration. if you have an FCP intake once you hit 3500rpms almost all you hear is intake. The muffler is still packing itself over the next few hundred miles so i don't even know what the final sound will be like but it's getting louder by the mile if only slightly. The quality of the muffler and the resonator is only top notch, no ricey tinny sound, just classy looks and a classy sound.

And before someone asks, that is my old maxima we put the exhausts on, someone i know bought it and they are having better luck with it then me, must be my driving style

and we do apoligize for the recent delays, circumstances beyond our control were causing backorders on parts we get from overseas. We will have these in as a whole unit boxed and ready to go, 100 of them. put on your shipping label and let the ups guy take it the next day.

Steve I must say that is a fine looking catback you've got there. The guy that does the welds does excellent work.

I've got a few of Q's for you.

Is the resonator hollow or glass packed? (Same with the muffler.)
Are there any baffles in the muffler or is it straight through?
What is the diameter of those tips?
And lastly how is the fit over the axel? Has your buddy said anything about any noises going over bumps?

I really like the way that the muffler and tailpipes are not riced out. It may be too soon to ask but what are real or expected HP/TQ gains?

the HP/TQ gains are expected to be the same as other 2.5 inch exhausts(~7-11hp). the bends are all the same, the muffler is straight through and glass packed not hollow. We're going to cut open one of the mufflers for display once we get the order in. I'll have to check the exact diameter with a caliper but i believe it's 3 inches.
The area over the rear axle is tight as you all know but there is clearance. We are going to include either stiffer/shorter bushing or two high quality hose clamps to hold the stock bushings tighter like we did here http://www.frankencar.com/products/5...ufflercar3.jpg those were the best hose clamps we had laying around, the ones we would include will be of higher quality. I rode around in the car after it was installed and there were some bumpy roads and no clanging on the rear axle, which i was pleased with. my original catback would sometimes.

Before I get it I would like to hear how it sounds on the Max!! Plus what this guy says!! These are all concerns thats for sure. I don't want to buy a first time product thats going to rust, rattle ,sound good and most of all HorsePower. What will the gains be?

I really can't afford an exhast right now, but kudos for all the hard work you obviously put into creating this.

Good job!

Your site is down (7:45am central). Any word on whether it will fit Altima 3.5?

the site if working now.

the exhaust will not fit the altima, they have a very different setup unfortunately

and we will be getting a sound clip once the exhaust is broken in next week or so. It's not very loud at all, it will compliment a Y-pipe very well because the muffler is high quality and by itself it's not very loud.

sorry, not the exhaust will not have the O2 sensor tapped for the bung. If someone in the area would like to have one welded in we have a preffered installer in the area.

and we will have a sound clip this week once the exhaust breaks in.
