Paint issues at lease end?

Paint issues at lease end?
I was just reading my lease agreement again, and I see that it specifically excludes paint chips from normal wear and tear. It says that the lessee is responsible for repairs, including chipped paint.
Now, with the Maxima's crappy paint, I have quite a few small chips. Has anybody else had experience with this when turning in a lease. I think, at a minimum, I am going to schedule a service visit, specifically complaining about the paint chips. Whether they do anything or not, I want a document in hand at lease end showing that I tried to make a warranty claim.
I swear if they make me pay for these paint chips, it will be the last Nissan I ever buy.
Anybody have any comments on this?

I had leased a '99 Grand Am & when it came time to turn it in, it had hundreds of little paint chips, a ~3" long scrape near the rear wheel well, & a deep scratch about an inch long near the driver's side door handle. Other than that, the car was immaculate & I made sure to give it a good wash/wax and to make the interior as clean as poss. before returning it. When I did, they had one of their guys check out the car for about 10 mins and said everything was alright and didn't charge me for anything. It depends on your dealer & Nissan of course, but it's something that is pretty much unavoidable so they should understand. Also, w/Pontiac (not sure about other co.'s) you could return the car at any Pontiac dealer so if that dealer gave me crap I could've just returned it at any other dealer who didn't mind the wear. Hope this helps even though it's not Nissan related.
Btw. just a week after I returned the car, the dealer sold it.
