Max smells like Arss.

It appears my zip up cooler is not quite so water tite. The bottom had a leak and soaked my back seat. Now it smells like arss is my car. Is there an easy way to get rid of the smell ? I guess I'll go get a King's Crown airfreshener from wal-mart.

The back seat is VERY easy to remove.. two rings at the bottom and pull up and out. Remove it and access the damage.. allow to dry outside the car, near the AC in the house perhaps. (to dehumidify)

The key, if you haven't already done so, is to get as much water as possible out and get the seat area to dry. It might require removing the seat from the car to make sure the area underneath is not trapping any moisture.

VERY good point Tim. Its SO easy, I take it out to "condition" my leather without gooping up the seatbelts. Found out how easy it was replacing my fuel filter.

Where is the two rings you are talking about? I tried to remove my backseat a while for my radio wires, but could not figure out how to remove the back seat.... got a pic by any chance?

its too easy for a pic One on each side, at the seam between the seat and body.. its really that easy..

Just one thing, dont let your seat belts touch that black gooey soundproofing stuff if you have some exposed.. its like tar and very hard to remove.

put your hand @ the bottom of seat where it meets the carpet & feel for the 2 rings in a back & forth motion if you cant see them...you'll find them...when you do...pull both @ same time & also pull in an OUT UPWARD motion....

Thanks for the help. I'm sure the wife will be happy about my backseat sitting in the middle of the living room tonight.

indeed.. an **** smelling one at that.. be sure there's no sound proofing goo on the bottom of the seat when you drag it in the house.... or you may be sleeping in the car on that stinky back seat..

In addition, you might want to get (or rent) a steam extractor to clean the carpet thoroughly.
