EVERYONE with aftermarket springs, step inside.

Hey guys, I decided to whip up a comparison chart and maybe make it a sticky or something because there are new suspension posts everyday...

Post what type spring you have and shock and measure with a tape measure from the ground to the middle of the fender well.
Please make sure you're on stock wheels. Please indicate if you have what size rim and different tires..

Example:

4th Gen H&Rs/KYB AGX
FRONT: 26.25 BACK 25.5
Stock 17" Wheels, Stock Tires.

Thanks

I need to take new pics... my shiznit is a lot lower after Tokicos and audio. Im afraid to see how low it would be with Teins.

Nothing you wont like right? The front will probably hit 25.5" and your @ss end will probably hit 25.25" The spring rate in the rear is quite a bit higher then maxspeeds (279lbs for the rear) so it shouldnt drop too much. I dont think you have much to worry about if you switch

I might give Teins a shot. I just dont want to be so low, that I will ruin my kit when I get it.

Ok how about this, Im 240, I had my 290lbs cousin in my ride, my 400lbs (yes 400 ) cousin with me and two more at 150 each. This is with the Teins and my bodykit, belive it or not, not once did I bottom out anywere. Speedbump I took head-on w/o any problem, driveways I hit at a slight angle (I clear it by just a few mm now, it was probably 1-2mm with all that weight) but I still never had one problem with it. Now im sure with all those people, my ride was heavier at that point then yours is now with the system and say 2-3 more "normal" sized people
I just have to watch out for parking blocks, but im 100% confident in saying you wont have any problems with the kit and the Teins.

Hmmm...well I used to have that problem, but no longer. When that happened about 4-5 weeks after I got the b-pipe in, put the car back up on the hoist and it looks like the rubber hangers for the exhaust are somewhat weak and stretched too much. What I did was I got 6 clamps (like the ones that you'd put around a radiator hose, the ones you can adjust with a standard screw driver or 5/16 socket) and I put two around each rubber hanger and tightend it up a bit. No more banging noise when goin over bumps...well over a yr now

I am thinking of going with maxspeed/KYB GR2 combo(possibly progress springs), but I dont want to fork out the money for the struts right now. The Maxspeeds are nice and inexpensive and I would love to rid myself of that gap right away!

My Questions are: #1- Is this OK to combine new springs w/ stock 02 GLE struts(at least until I can save some more money), and will I get the desired drop without the struts?

#2- How do most of you feel about the drop w/ the combo I mentioned above? I am also going to be getting 19s down the road too. keep trhat in mind w/ your sugestions/coments.

Thanks alot!

Maxspeed/GR2 is exactly what I have. Yes, it is okay to have the Maxspeeds with the stock struts. However, you will be MUCH happier with the GR2s right away, and if you're paying to have them put in you will save money by having them all installed at the same time. I had my stock struts in for about 19K miles and when I added the GR2s I had no idea what I was missing! Do both now if you can.

That is what Tokico called and told me. Should be at the distributors, ready to order, by the end of October.
