What problems to look for when buying a 5gen max??
i'm looking to buy a 5gen max years 00-01....what type of problems should i be aware of? i was told the earlier version has bad ignition coil that cause power loss, rough idle, etc...what other problems are they?

if you can still get the extended warranty you should be ok with "most" of the problems if you have a decent dealership around, the TSBs will fix most the minor problems.. check the paint mainly.. nissan oem paint just sucks..

Look at the 02-03 Max's if you can....6-speed!
If you do get a 00-01 Max look for ignition coil replacement due to engine knocking (I had it on my 2K), paint chip problems (still on my 2K2), and try and get the 5-speed, the auto that I had was good but was prone to slipping after 60K miles (some)
