I'd hope not... that'd be as silly as voiding the engine warranty by filling with Mobil 1 instead of Nissan OEM oil...

well thats what i was thinking too, but u know how the dealer tricky is, the would start saying "wtf is that, thats not a factory defect, thats not a warranty issue, you have to pay for this yourself..."

so id rather keep the regular fluid then void warranty...

No it doesn't. I use Redline myself and asked my dealer where I get my car serviced and he said, "No, it does not void your transmission warranty"

Just make sure you flush out your old OEM tranny oil first completely before adding the MT-90

Magnussen Moss Act -- Basically if the dealer is going to require you to put a certain fluid in the car they have to provide it free of charge. You can use any fluid you want as long as it meets or exceeds manuf. specs.

what happens when i dont do a complete flush of the oem fluid? i was only able to get 4 out of 5 qts out of my 2000 maxima.

You got 4qts out of your transmission thats good enough. How do you drain your transmission? I'm assuming this is a 5spd. Or is it a Automatic?
6Spd only use about 2 1/2 Qts.

FYI, you DON'T use MT-90 on an automatic!!!!

I couldn't find the "drain plug" pictured in the shop manual, so I removed the reverse switch (round thing with a wire harness and a bolt holding it in... can't miss it), then used the filler plug with a long flexible funnel to refill.

I brought some MT-90 from a Nissan Dealer. MT-90 is GL-4 grade so its all good!

Btw I didnt notice anything significant with shifting or improved power. It just didn't do jack for me.

really? after i changed to redline mt-90, my shifting is smooth as ever.. made a world of difference for me. the old trany oils look like crap.. yuck. i'm planning to change it again after 10,000 miles since i could only get 4 out of 5 quarts out the first time.

If you deviate from the exact GL that Nissan uses in a 6 speed they CAN deny warranty work. But since I can no longer rely on the dealer to make warranty repairs on my vehicle I am going to use the stuff anyway.

i got mine at www.autoil.com. it was the cheapest place i could find. i ordered 6 to get some discount or something .. cant remember. their customer service was great too.
