Have any of you expereince with side window deflectors? they are described in the nissandriven webpage accessories sectionf for the Maxima. I am curious if they would cut back on the wind noise (even with closed windows?).

I asked the same question a couple of months ago and got no response so I tried Ventshades. There was no change in wind noise with the windows closed - ie - none. The quality of the wind noise with the windows open changed but not really the amount. Now I can leave the windows cracked and not have water dripping on the power window switches.

I'm planning on getting the side window wind deflectors as well. When I went to Nissan to get the front hood deflector, I also asked for the side window deflectors, but they didn't have that part listed anywhere. So I was thinking of getting the WeatherFlectors from WeatherTech. Anyone has experience or have heard anything about these? Their website is http://www.weathertech.com

Thank you for the information. I check out the weathertech site and they have some interesting stuff. However, I was more interested in the deflectors ability to to lower wind noise. Based on wdave's experience I will pass for now and save the $. This website is great! Thanks again.

I called weathertech several times - always got "under development". I think they can't and won't find a way to make their snap-in mounting system work on the Maxes lipless windowframes.

Re: Re: WeatherTech

Hi Dave. Did they say that their deflectors won't work on our 5th Gen Max? I emailed them and specifically asked them if they have deflectors (reflectors) that was designed for the 2000 and up Nissan Maxima and they said yes. They also gave me a Canadian Distributor's number so that I can get it in Canada and bypass the higher shipping and duty and tax and service charge and brokerage fee and... sorry, venting a little <grin>... anyway can you let me know exactly what they told you (i.e., that the reflectors for the 2000+ Maxima is "under development"). I was sorta leaning on getting theirs 'cause they're not permanent, there's nothing to stick onto the car, and they're removable anytime. I'll send them another email from another email address to make sure. Thanks.

I haven't tried in a few months - I just gave up after they said they didn't have them "yet" for 6 months or so. If they finally have them that's wonderful - just too late for me.
