How would no muffler sound (inspired by SRT-4)

Seen lots of exhaust posts recently, but I was wondering yesterday as I was bored in class what my car woudl sound like minus the muffler. The SRT-4 sounds pretty decent without mufflers, so I would imagine the 3.5 VQ would also rumble nicely. Any of you guys tried this? If I had the time, i'd pop off my muffler and give it a whirl, but I dont have the time.

How do you lose power by removing restrictions on the exhaust? I always thought the more air you can move faster the better.

My friend has a 89 camry V6. His muffler fell off. He couldn't get past 80 mph on the highway. Yes, the pedal was pressed all the way down.

ya back pressure is needed to make some torque. that little write up was good too.... but no one with full exhaust minus a muffler huh? Ah, well, thats aight.

There are to many of you to quote. So here is a big

If back pressure were good all forms of racing would be a whole lot quieter.

Anything as far down the line as the muffler should cause no loss in power. It should have more. "Should" being that you have no other problems like leaks before o2 sensors.

The low pressure you hear about is behind the shock wave or exhaust pluse. The that low pressure helps pull the next pulse along.
