Seems like a strange, unpleasant smell (kind of like rotten eggs, but not as strong) is coming from my exhaust. I smelled it after about 45 minutes of 20-50mph driving in the city. It was more pronounced when I smelled the air right next to the muffler. The smell was there for maybe 10 seconds after I parked, and then it went away quickly. This started a day after I got my PowerTech muffler installed (2 days ago). The car has less than 5000 miles on it. I did some searches and people have said that it may be a blown cat. Is this possible with such a new car? Will the dealer fix it under warranty even with an aftermarker muffler (no other exhaust mods)? Any ideas? Thanks much.

Its a normal smell. Its just your exhaust breaking in.

Hmm, what needs to break in? Shiit, I hope it isn't anything like a cat going bad.. if it's the normal break in process of an exahsut, then it's all good. Bear in mind, however, that I only changed the muffler, nothing else.

All new mufflers smell like @ss when you first get them and start the car. Mine went away after two days of driving.
