I went to my local dealer to see if they would match carsdirect on a new 2001 Max SE 5sp and they did - $40 over invoice, plus I qualified for 3.9% financing for 60 months.

I'm psyched about getting a new Maxima, I had a 92 which I traded in for 95. The 95 was stolen twice the secind time it was totaled. After that I couldn't get another until I moved to better location. So the time is now.

Anyway, I want an SE and the Meridian package. I really want the heated mirrors. The dealer tells me that w/o leather you really can't find the Meridian package. Then you can't get leather w/o the Bose. I really don't have a need for the Bose.

So is the dealer right or do SE w/ cloth come with the Merdian?

Also can the heated mirrors be added?

If the dealer phrased it like he/she did, then they are absolutely right. Most all Maximas coming off the line with the Meridian Package are also getting the leather package. The SE is available with Merdian and no leather, but you will probably have to search the world and eventually cave in and special order the car.

You're likely to find Meridian, Bose, and the leather package on Maximas all together...or none at all...on most lots. Call around though...if you find one, talk the dealer into doing a car swap or go to the other dealer.

 

Mine has the Meridian package without Leather. I found it a bit strange to have heated seats with cloth....But they work and feel great.

 

I got 01 SE with Meridian with no leather and no Bose. It's possible but you will have to look for it. I went to three different dealers and last dealer worked with me to find the car i wanted which he found at a fourth dealer. So they are out there but not that many.
