What I think spkr_diy is missing is the fact that Honda owners wont get butt****ed by their service departments, unlike Nissan.

OK, I own a 2000 Civic Si. I also own a 2001 Maxima SE. Civic 38,000 miles. Maxima 42,000. Civic, 0 visits to ANY service center. Maxima 9 visits in 2 fing yrs. I would rather not address the fact that a 4cylinder engine IS going to under perform our V6 any day. Not really brain surgery there. I respect both cars for the individual performance aspects. I can out-drive the Max with the Civic on a road coarse, while dust the Civic with the Max in a straight line. Next time I will trade the straight line speed for the lack of the unreliability and nightmarish trips to beg a service manager to warranty parts that I paid for($2,100) for. I have had One good experience and eight horrible ones at the hands of Nissan.

Yet another opportunity for a polarizing "us vs. them" conflict. Good thing too, because we don't have enough of those...

I just like cars, it does not matter if it is a Honda, Nissan, GM, I just enjoy seeing other peoples rides and how they keep them. I could care less if some dudes car is faster than mine. Sure I like to have some fun, but thats all that it is , fun. After all, I'm an engineer not a racecar driver. My 2 sense

There are just as many ignorant honduh owners that talk a lot of smack. Saying that a Honda will need to be boosted to beat a 14.2 is really lame though.

The new Accord 6spd's are running mid-14's. An S2000 will do that stock in the hands of the right driver, and there are a lot of mods available for that car.

My Prelude is faster than my 2k2 all day long...but its hell to drive. Plus its cost me a life savings to make it that way. I love both Hondas and Nissans the same its just upsetting that people get all worked up about this stuff. We are all in it for the same reason, the love of our cars.

S2000 is an entirely different animal. 5000 RPM clutch dumps and you can get 0-60 in like 5.8 seconds. I "think" it will do mid to low 14's in the 1/4 once you learn how to launch it. IMHO, it's the best performance car for under $35K (and it's a vert, to boot ).
