A lot of 2k2+ owners have also experienced this.

so this audio problem occurs when playing audio cds only right? cuz, the radio was playing fine. I never thought to test it. They blamed the audio problems on my burnt cds. Does this happen with any CD in the player?

Many of us 2K2-2K3 owners have gone through this.

I linked an old thread that is in the audio forum which explains what the problem is.

It doesn't matter which type of CD you are playing, it will do this while ANY CD is playing. Switch it back to the radio or the tape player and it is fine. I have been playing burnt CD's since I had my HU replaced almost a year ago and it has not happened since.

lots of people have had that problem, there's a TSB for it as well:

While reading posts about the Bose problems over the past several months mine has been working great (2k2 purchased new in Dec. 02). I have under 9k miles on the car and sure enough - it started happening this past weekend.

Ahh crap - why me?

Called up the dealer and mentioned the TSB, but of course they still needed to see the car. As I was driving the car there it seemed to be working pretty good. I'm thinking they weren't going to find a problem...argh.

Thankfully they found a problem with the stereo and a new one is on order. Hopefully the swap out process will go as smoothly.

Good luck to others with the same issue.
