Micro-Filter Issue

I just had the micro-filter replaced along with a 15K service in my 03 SE. There is now a loud whistling noise coming from where the filter is located (under the glove compartment).

Is this what its suppose to sound like new? Or did they just not install the filter properly?

Thanks

JC

When I replaced mine I had no whistling... They might have done something wrong. Take it back

Since replacements come in two pieces, I would think they didn't seat the one into the other and the whistling might be due to a gap of some kind between them.

Thanks guys, I called the dealer and they admit it's most likely installed inproperly and will fix it. I just have to waste some more time bringing it in.

FYI, it costs ~$60 for the microfilter replacement.

I ordered the Filter from local dealer for $40 bucks. You could of saved 20 dollars for a nice meal at Red Lobster or something.

Just a follow-up. When the dealer replace the microfilter, they damaged the foam seal around the plastic cover which lead to the whistling noise. They had to order a new one for me.

So for the do-it-yourselfers, take caution.

actually, little caution needed. That why you do it yourself. Only a drunk gorilla or nissan tech could do damage replacing a in-cabin filter.
