Front Left Speaker is going Bad.

Has anyone had problems with their speakers on a 2003 Maxima SE. Sounds like the front left speaker loses power, but is usually fixed when I hit a small bump or something... any suggestions? Anything will help. Thanx...

Yup me three. I had the left front speaker(non Bose) start to crackle at lower volume levels. Drove me nuts. What drove me even more nuts is the tardo dealer where I bought the car claimed they couldn't here a the crackle. I simply took it to another dealer actually closer to home and he ordered me a new one. Great service =)

Same problem here. With a lot of "patience" I found that the speaker would start out ok and than fade and finally shut off. And the only way to get it to turn back on was to hit the dash a couple of times.

But my dealer has never heard of this problem...

I too, am having the same problem with my front left speker (non-Bose). I thought I blew it from turning it up too loud, but I don't normally go over 20 on the volume.

Too Many Problems

I am having the same problem with the left speaker. Called Monday to have it fixed and I have an appointment next Monday. But I hit a bump yesterday and now the speakers are fine. When the left speaker is out, try radio, it works fine. This only happens with CD's. Looked all over the forum and answered many of my questions. Probaly need to replace the HU.

I bought my Max September 2002 and it's only a year old with 10,400 miles on it. Here are a list of issues already.

-Left Speaker fading in and out if I hit a bump.
-Already replaced the back subwoofer because it can't handle too much bass.
-The harness on the passenger side was replaced because it was too short. If the seat was moved, the harness was disconnecting. Went back 2 times before they realized to order me a longer harness.
-The passenger seat where magazine go, the back panel fell off shutting the car door.
-The moonroof snaps whenever I would go over bumps, little bumps, any bump, the damn thing would snap and make annoying noises. But it fixed itself and get very little snaps here and there.

Overall, I love my Maxima. The engine kicks A$$!!! I had a 2000 and that car would have lasted me forever. The reason I changed, you would think you would be getting a better car, but not the case. Not too keen on the 2004 body style either. Plus I love the Xenon's and heated steering wheel too

I also HAD this problem. Nissan told me that there is a problem with the first set of Radios they had. Just go to the dealer and tell them you want the radio replaced with the new radios made after the correction was made. I got mine done about two months ago. I have not had a problem since. And as long as you are still under warranty, it will be free. FYI, I have the Bose 6CD In-Dash Changer radio.

I also have the Bose in dash 6 disk changer, and just recently I've developed the same problem. But only when playing CD's. The radio is fine. Gonna bring it to the dealer cause supposedly there is a TSB for this

This really sucks- I have the non-Bose cd/cass head unit- with rockford components in the front door - and it happen all the time- it only adjusts when i increase the volume-
took it several times back to my audio place(thinking they focked up the install) and they cannot find whats wrong-
There is definetly something wrong w/ the headunit
maybe some sort of bag ground/ or inline adapters
that are cuttin off /weakening the signal to the left
front speakers

Same problem here.

I had my HU replaced 2 months aga and no problems yet

Dealer did not make me pay any charges, since it was still under warranty.

Honestly, when I hit a bump, I still get paranoid and check if my speakers went out or not.

My service writer had the nerve to tell me that the system was not designed to be played with the bass level above 3 and the volume above 15, especially with "today's music". He went on to say that he could not replace it if it happened a 2nd time. It took all I had to keep from laughing in his face. He didn't realize that I know the G.M.
