WOW, I hope you are wearing a flame retardant suit, because I'll be very surprised if you don't catch any heat for that one!

BTW, I am another of those, um, older Maxima owners.
I was waiting for the lynch mob, but I guess, and hope, they caught my brand of humor.
Well, i haf gud grammer n i kan spel write n im undar 25!

get what you like the most. as with the packages, if you want everything standard get a better package. this limits the ability to personalize the vehicle though. why would you replace/upgrade something that you had to pay more to get in the first place?

i am 17 years old, i drive a 2k black GLE with sunroof. OK, for sure that car is not faggy or whatever those pple are tellin ya
second, that car in my opinion has a very sporty, and stylish look... i love driving that car, with factory tints, which are dark enough, it looks bad ***! seriously!
i actually do like the GLE rear lights for some reason. pple say it looks wierd, but i do not agree... my friends all tell me the car is SWEET! and some friends think of it as the mobster car since it looks like a car that a mofia person would drive! hahaha good luck with your choice

i agree with you there the max doesnt look anything like a "old person car" the reason it gets that label is because only older people can afford to buy one (that is the assumption)...... i am 16 and have a fulley loaded SE i love it!!!! doesnt feel look or sound like anything only an old person would drive to me but that is my opion.... if your wondering how i got the max my grandparents bought it for me..... they told me to pick any car that i wanted so i choose the best the "MAX" of coarse and am enjoying moding it up........

i'm 18.....

ummmmmmmm......i lost my thought. j/k. i got a 2k1 gxe, i think it looked good when i got it, but thats because i was going to get a used maxima and i was so surprised when my dad let me get a new one. we told the dealer that we would buy the car if they threw in a spoiler and tint, so they agreed. and i tell you, that car looked 10 times better after the tint and spoiler were put on. it totally changed the look of the car. a lot of my friends say that my car is for old people, and that i should have bought a civic! but some of them are just plain ignorent, like my friend and his 1999 grand am gt, he thinks its quicker than mine and the styling is a lot better. first of all, 175hp vs. 222hp, enuf said. on the styling thing, his car doesn't look all that bad on the outside (its lower to the ground than mine, 5-spoke alloys look good, a spoiler) but the inside is totally hideous. i'm glad i bought a max, nice looking, pleasant interior, quick and quite (grand am is LOUD as hell), just get a max that fits your budget (thats why they have 3 types)

No way.....

I am 21 years old and love the max, and there is no way that a maxima is or looks like an old persons car. All of my friends drive maximas and there ages range from 18 to 24. Anyway dont listen to whom ever told you that.

I just turned 22 and I have a 2001 Maxima SE, fully loaded w/ leather and everything. The SE is the only thing that I would buy, it is totally worth it!!!

i was 20 when i got my 2001 MAXIMA SE

i previously had the 99 maxima GXE, but after and accident i got the 2001 MAXIMA SE with the 17" rims and sunroof and all that, and im 20. i saw other cars and tried them out, but decided to go with the sports package and SE trim, the car looks sportier and nicer. I didn't get the GLE because i don't need the wood trim and don't need the leather, the SE with everything actually costs more than the GLE. plus my FAGGY car burns my friends fixed up preludes SH , fixed up civics, accords, wutever. so think before u speak.

I'm 23. I bought a 2001 Icelandic Pearl 5-speed w/ C&C package about 5-weeks ago. DEFINITELY get an SE or AE 5-speed and NOBODY will think your a ***. Especially if you get some rims, mods, and a stereo.

And in the process, you can solidify my belief that the Maxima is a much wiser choice than the Passat! Email me!

I am 38. I traded my 97 GLE for a loaded 2000 super black SE. Now sometimes I feel like I'm "under 25"! Enjoy the ride, be a man and make up your own ride.
BYTW, my aunt drives a passant.

Kev, you are write!

Yes, I did the agin on purpose. Passant or Passat was unintended. But you spelled my name wrong. It is "Rafael" not Raphael. Bottom line is that driving the Max is fun at any age and having fun will keep us young. When I was 18 my car was a 1973 Dodge Dart and at 25 it was '88 Mazda 323. When my 5 year old turns 16 she can have my current Maxima, maybe.

I'm 37, just picked up my 2K1 SE AE 5 speed. I think the GLE does draw the cruiser generation, but I never did think of the Max as an old person's car. That phrase conjurs up images of Grand Marquis and Town Cars. Not Maximas!

This car draws looks wherever it goes...even on a Nissan lot! I was in for service and 3 people asked if it was for sale! No joke!

After 5 years of driving my Ford Ranger (which I still have and it is going strong), I bought a used 1993 Maxima for my son to drive...but I drove it instead leaving him with the truck while he honed his 5 speed skills...I had too much fun in that car, and besides, I've been a fanatic of the Maxima's since 1987! I loved the 2nd and 3rd generaton Max...was never taken with the 4th, and now the 5th..WOW! After almost a year driving the 93, I decided I had to get one for myself, and specifically the 20th anniversary edition.

Now, I enjoy the heck out of my commute, and the car is simply beautiful. I just like looking at it! Sooo...get what you want, and to heck with others...they are probably just jealous anyway. And who said it is a *** car??? That's ridiculous...what is a *** car anyway? srm
