raced a 2000 Acura TL(Non Type S)

Last night coming out of work me and my friend decided to race on rt. 23 in wayne, nj. We were stop at a red, once the light turned green we both took off, we both took off nice I had about 1/2 car right from the get go. We raced till about 80 because cops are all over that highway so we didn't want to take any chances. Anyway I was a bit dissapointed because I had only about 1.5 cars on him when we shut down. I'm dissapointed because I thought I should have had more than 1.5 cars on him. By the way he is bonestock and my only mod is an INJEN CAI.

That is a little odd vs. a straight TL. Are you auto? Did you manu-shift to fix the early 1 - 2 shift? Do you still have soft memory in the ECU?

Not to start any flame wars (both nice cars), I raced a TL-S from a stop and pulled him slowly all the way. Had him by a couple of lengths at 70.

Yes, I am an auto and I did not manu-shift, I just left it in D4.

Thats surprising, because I raced one in my stock 2001 SE AT, at lower rpm I'd surge ahead a lil bit and at the high end the Acura would catch up. At about 70-75mph I ended up 1 car length ahead. I'd think the 02/03 Max would be able to rip the '00 TL a new @$$hole? Esp. with an Injen

I thought the same thing, I've driven his car several times, it's pretty decent as far as power goes, but my Max feels a lot stronger. The Type S on the other hand I've never driven one or raced one.

Just as a note. Stone headers on a TL non s dyno near 10whp and UR pullies dyno near 15 whp. Now add intake and he could keep up with no problem. Just my 02 cents.

Edit, sorry just read he is bone stck.... something does not add up then.

I'm certain I've posted this before but don't sleep on the TL-P; I was able to take out an auto 3.5SE Altima with a 99 3.2TL I was renting for a couple of days. We were dead even from a stop to about 1/2 mile. (personally I think the base TL's HP is more like 235-240hp rather than 225hp)

Peace.

Damn, so I guess a Type S would take out 2k2-2k3 auto Max.

Not necessarily; what I mean is that if the TL-P gets a good enough jump, it can give an auto 2K2+ a run for the money (though I have no doubt that the 2K2+ would come out on top @ higher speeds).

Peace.

Oh, settle down - we haven't had a Maxima / TL flame war in at least a couple of months. I'm sure this will be an intelligent debate with lots of new and solid proof
