*16" rims with 215/55R16's only*
1st gear 50.56mph max (7,100rpm)
2nd gear 82.79mph max (7,100rpms)
3rd gear 140.94mph max (7,100rpms, O/D off T/C locked)
4th gear 202.28mph max (7,100rpms)
Since the ECU will allow a 1st gear manual downshift below 40mph (5,900rpms), and the extra 1,200rpms to play with after it, an automatic would be extremely strong if the driver is daring to do a "1" drop at 39mph and still have time to shift into "2" quick enough without bumping into the rev limiter. If Danny can get the ECU to move the VI switchover @ 5,000rpms or 5,100rpms vs. 5,200rpms (stock), auto's will be breathing through the short runners throughout the entire acceleration run after the 1-2 shift. WOW, now I really want another Max, manual or not
Ideally, you should move the gear selector as follow:
1-2@6,600rpms
2-3@6,900rpms
3-4@6,900rpms
IMHO, those are the two things that are the most important with an ECU upgrade. Extra HP and TQ is just icing on the cake Thanks Regime and Icy

Does the upgraded ECU defeat the NATS? It may be worth it to me if I could dump the IMMU and stupid transponder key crap.

YES! We *WILL* need a 2000, but are you Fed or Cali spec?
We are *STILL* waiting for Danny to get back to us.
YOU GUYS SHOULD KEEP CALLING AND ASKING FOR PROGRESS, SO HE KNOWS WE ARE STILL INTERESTED.

am i still the test car for this, ice?

Yes Larry, but there more then one is necessary.
At least:
2001 5spd
2001 auto
2000 5spd Cali
2000 Auto Cali
2000 5spd Fed
2000 Auto Fed
Eventually, we'll also need the auto Maximas with TCS PLUS modified of each would be NICE, but probably not necessary. We'll see when we get to that point.
Anyways, the *MORE* test cars the marrier. We just need Danny to take the next step and then we'll start parading in all the test cars, so we can get the ball rolling faster.

We'll DEFINITELY need SC/TC guys with bigger injectors to be test cars.
350Z guys are jumping all over the TS ECU with PE 380cc injector program.
However, we still need you guys to keep CALLING, EMAILING, etc. Danny, so he *KNOWS* we are still interested. I know it's going to eventually happen, since they've already made an ECU harness for us. Just sounds like the 350Z/G35 guys are keeping them SUPER busy. Hopefully, that will die down soon and we can get a chance.

No.
Our injectors are big enough for any N/A mods. Even if they weren't, a high flow Walbro or adjustable FPR would take care of it.

Doubt it. There are 30 or so ECU variations for '99s...no **** really.
It would be expensive to send each and every variation to Japan to extract the source code.
You '99 guys just need to stick with eMange and forget about 7000+ limiters.

How can we contact Danny to offer some encouragement?

Why do you need more RPM? Staying NA?
His phone/address contact info is on the TS website, but his email is danny@technosquareinc.com.

Any thoughts on this idea?

J/K...you need to get a 99 FSM/ESM and do some homework. I have a hard time believing a '99 is the same as a 2K-2K1 in many ways. Also, watch out for Fed vs. Cali, thru 10/98 vs. from 10/98, TCS, and the greatest of all "power drivers' seat".

I think we have one, ie Larry, but he's got an AE and may have a ypipe depending on how much longer this takes.
It could just be as simple as driving down there, pulling your ECU, copying your immobilizer info to my spare ECU, and the test starting/driving to make sure everything works. Or it could require some dyno tuning to set the AFR and timing. We'll keep in touch and I'll let you know what we need once we get the "go ahead" from Danny.

we need to get something about for the 2k-2k1 guys

Now *THAT* is a team player.
Yeah, Stevo's "shift point" thread is making me want a higher rev limit MORE AND MORE.
Lighter/smaller rims and just the 7200rpm limiter alone would be schweeeeeet.

Good News
IceY2k just got word from Danny that we are very very close. I will let Ice give ya'll the details, when he has a moment to post.
But I did want to mention that Danny has requested that you all stop calling and asking to be test cars. Only Ice and myself (mostly Ice) will be organizing the test cars, Danny will ONLY take test cars that ICE gives him. That means if you want to be a test car, don't bother Danny. Just post on this thread. That being said, we already have the initial test cars already setup. If that doesn't deter you, you have to be completely stock, or with only very few and very common *small* mods like an intake or UDP. At this time we are just weeks away from getting the first test car (probably Larrio) in there for the initial tuning.
I am as excited as I am sure all of you are about this. Hell I was without my car for over 2 months for this cause already
This IS happening I still can't believe it.
But please refrain from bothering Danny over there, I know it is hard, but at this point all you will be doing is making Danny waste time and probably make him upset.

I notice you have an AE also, hopefully everything goes smoothly with the ECU transfer. Time to get ready to head in.

Yes, VERY very encouraging news. Still don't believe it myself, since it's been so long. However, Danny@TS has been nothing but awesome in treating us like a good customer. Business is business and they have to do what makes sense.
Our time is coming near though and I can't wait!

It can tune fuel maps, ignition, and injectors. You can use it to upgrade the MAF and injectors as well.
