Hood TSB Question

I am aware of two TSB's listed for the hood vibration 02-005 & 01-042. My question is, how much vibration were you guys who took your car in for this experiencing? I only really notice it when I'm washing the car. Does it become an issue in which you can actually hear or see it while you're driving? I did a search, but these questions hadn't really been answered in the threads I viewed.
Thanks in advance,
-Tim

when I was driving it looked like the hood was unlatched... I had a passenger ask me once "did you close the hood all the way?" because it looked like it was about to come up.

Yikes! Thanks for the info. Sounds like mine isn't quite as bad as yours was, but sounds scary nontheless.

on mine, the welds right in front of the driver had broken... i could see it in the uninsulated spot when I opened the hood. They put some liquid-weld crap on it and installed the headlamp packs and it's all good now.

Yeah, I never notice it unless I'm washing the hood also. I'm still up in the air about taking it in for the TSB. It really doesn't bother me, but then again it should be repaired. I haven't gotten the wind noise TSB done either, my stereo is always on so I never heard it but I'll probably take it in eventually.

Yeah, thats my story too. I wanna get it taken care of before winter. Has anyone experienced any issues with moisture getting into the car with the window seal issue?

no, and nobody's going to see this question because they'll assume the thread is about the hood flutter tsb.

But before you create another thread you should search on it, or just believe me that I've never seen anyone complain about moisture because of the window seals

This might be helpful. Had a pretty bad hood flutter and did 2 things to fix it. I loosen the 3 bolts that hold the latch to the center post behind the grill with a 10 mm wrench. Slide the bracket down, tighten bolts. Mine slid down 1/4 inch. This draws the hood closer to the grill
Then unscrew (raising higher) the rubber stops on each side that the hood sits on. Go a half turn at a time. And test. adjust more as necessary.
I think you will find this will do it.
Good luck.
Long live the forum.

I'm not sure you want to do that... of course there's nothing wrong with what you described but on my car the hood fluttered because WELDS BROKE. I think you might want to investigate that, before hiding the symptoms by wedging the hood against the stops and the latch.
