Hi,
I've contacted both of you via PM regarding the 2k2 HID installation instruction on a 2K1 maxima, but haven't heard back from you yet. Please reply. I still need your installation instruction.
Help. While waiting for you to answer, I tried the re-install myself. After two hours of sweating, I still couldn't figure out the correct wiring, but managed to burn the in-dash meter light. Now there is no light for the dash display I don't know what speed I am driving at at night. Help. I checked all the fuses; none of them broke. So I guess I did burn the display. Who knows where I could buy the display (4 or 5 color whatever)?
Thank you in advance,
Vien Nguyen.
Alex and Dixit, my email is vien_mti@yahoo.ca

do a search on what you mean? the 2k2 HID install, or the in-dash display replacment?
I did search for the 2k2 HID install, but to no avail. Will try for the in-dash display replacment. Thanks.

You contacted me but then you wrote a 2nd email saying you contacted the wrong person, how do I respond to that? I thought you sent a wrong email.
Did you check the fuses near the driver side lower dash area?

Hi Dixit,
I did check the whole fuse box. Actually I checked both fuse boxes, one just under the dash near the hood release, and the other one under the hood, near the battery. None of the fuse broke, so I guess I burned the display. Poor me. I've just got laid off, so I thought I could use my free time to fix the HID, but now I have to spend money buying the dash display also, darn.

Theres no way you burned out the display, there are quite a few bulbs in that display. Not to mention the display shares the same power as the parking lights. Have you checked to see if those work? If not then theres your problem. Replace that parking light fuse.

Dixit,
I am not sure what you meant by parking lights, but today I tried.
a) While parking handbrake was still applied, and the headlights switch in OFF position, I started the engine. No light from both headlight assemblies came on.
b) When I released the handbrake, on the driver side the big bulb nearer to the NISSAN logo (not the Xenon bulb) was ON. But on the passenger side both big bulbs were ON.
Now, no matter what I did to the handbrake, up or down, on the driver side one bulb stayed on, but both bulbs on the passenger side stayed ON.
c) Then I turned the light switch to AUTO position, only the Xenon bulbs on both side were ON (since I tested in the garage, quite dim in there). I guess it's correct for both Xenon bulbs to be automatically ON ???
d) Then I turned the light switch to the next position. Only the Xenon bulb on the passenger side came ON (which is not correct, I think).
e) Then I turned the light switch to the next position, both Xenon bulbs were ON.
The small bulbs right above of the yellow signal lights never came ON.
Dixit, the fact is that I checked every single fuse from both fuse boxes, and none of them broke, so I think I did burn out the in-dash display. I'll have to find a solution to it.
But please, send me your HID install instruction so I could fix the headlight problem first. I am not sure if yours is the same as Y2KevSE's (I used his initially). If not, I will have to undo both side and start from the beginning again. Initially, I thought the headlight unit on the driver side is correct, so I only have to fix the one on the passenger side. By the way, do I need relay(s) for the install ?
Thank you Dixit.
