be installed on a 2001 3-liter mill?

I was reading SmokinOdum's post below on this replacement engine and.....well....I gotta ask...are the 3.5 liter throttle body and MAFs much bigger than the 3.0 liter's pieces and can they be grafted in to the older engines in such a way that they yield any performance improvements? I know the 3.5 liter mills are drive-by-wire.....does that pretty well kill this idea?

The Maxima TB's for the VQ35 won't work. As you previously mentioned, they are a DBW setup. However, the Nissan Pathfinder TB will be able to work with a tad bit of creativity...

I dont know much about engines and stuff but I am pretty sure that wont work because of the drive-by-wire system.
