Grilltech Lower Grills rusting

was showing a friend of mine my lower bumper grille, and i find out that my grills were rusting on the corners!!!!

I have only had these grilled for two months. It sucks man!!! Whats up with that? Does anyone have this problem, and did GrillTech compensate for it?

if there is no compensation..... any ways to fix the problem? I know its too late to put on rust proof coating...

That's what I've heard in the past. So, I didn't buy the grille tech. Does anyone make a similar grille that is rust proof?

Mine rusted like an iron nail. Threw that crap out. Someone on here told me they now have an "improved process" or some crap to prevent rusting. But that was 8 months ago, and if yours is only 2 months old, then I'd say all they improved was their sales technique. Call and comlain if you want; I didn't find it worth my breath since any new one they would send me would just rust as well. And I don't feel like painting a new one. You shouldn't have to fix someone's product because they didn't make it right in the first place.

sucks... totally sucks.... hmmm i wonder if painting it back to silver will do anything, or maybe use the touch up paint to fix that problem, but you know what GrillTech just lost another customer. it was nice for awhile, but this sucks

If you do feel like fixing it, just take a wire brush to it, clean it up real well, then spray paint it a metallic silver color w/rustproof paint. I did that just b/c I'm too cheap to buy another grille from another co. & it does look good spraypainted.

I just hate how Grille-tech punked out on their crappy product. I was helping them with their products till I saw the crap that they are selling to us. No one should buy anything from them .

Same thing with mine after last winter. I did the wire brush thing, primed and painted them with silver wheel paint. So far, so good. We'll see what happens this winter. My sig pic shows the painted grilles.

I got no satisfaction from customer service at Grille Tech. I will not buy anything else from them.

High priced gutter guard..If you clear it from day one..it will help. I think it is just some cheap steel that has been galvanized.

Brush and paint with rustoleum

Mine was stuck/glued on pretty tight so I just masked it off when I painted it.

Masking it all off is a huge PITA, but trying to get that rubber strip off is even harder. I got the idea from Bluesbrekr also after seeing how nice his looked painted.

I might just take them off and stomp on them to get my anger out.....seems easier than painting them !

Thanks, *****. The pic is a bit decieving. The sun is shining on the grille, so it looks a bit more 'silver' than it really is....but it does look better than it used to.
