................Hello 5th genners...........

I just purchased a black 2000 SE 5 spd from a fellow member on here. It has stillen side skirts and rear, custom tails, AE headlights, 2002 wheels, aftermarket leather, Ground control and KYB AGX shocks and an intake.

I've been an org member for about 4 years. This is my 4th maxima. I was initially secretly shopping for a 2002/03 6 speed but the right car in the right condition and price is not easy to find..

looking forward to learning many things about the generation I hated upon first impression.
I feel like such a newbie

yup

the green 97 5spd running embarassing times (no need to mention them as i'd like to avoid all embarassment for now)

on another hand, previous owner of my new max ran a 14.8 with an intake only

which brings me to my 1st question which i haven't bothered to use the search for yet;

what are guys here running with intake/y-pipe combos?
i believe 4th gens are generally quicker than 00/01's in the quater mile.. true or not?

I'd have to say that an awful lot of people are running the Frankencar intake with midpipe. For y-pipe, your most solid bet is Cattman. There's been some controversy whether Warpspeed y-pipes actually do anything.

BTW, something you may want to look into... Cattman headers are also out. But you probably already knew that.

thanks

Marco, I have your 2k2 wheels right? I just curbed one of them pulling out of my driveway like a dumbass , Val is going kill me.

Some things I noticed on the 1st drive to school today in comparison to my 4th gen:

- 3rd gear is gated further than how it is in 4th gens.. I had trouble hitting it as i'm used to the 4th gen
- TOP END
- interior is put together better than the 4th gen, less gaps, more tight, less rattles..
-more quiet inside
-clutch engages a lot lower

car is very solid, feels quicker,
but the low end is lacking a little bit.. no big deal.

scheduled mods:
-finish stillen kit with the front lip
-15 or 20% tint all around
-switching out the Ground Controls for some H&Rs.. i bottomed out the struts twice today in 15 miles driven
