I have a 200o se auto, and occasionally I get a spark knock and poor acceleration. I've tried all different types of premium fuel and injector cleaners. I've also had the dealer reset my computer at 15,000 miles. Is this related to all the talk about solenoids and tsm?????

 

Try doing a search for "detonation." It’s been visited a couple times, mostly having to do with non-premium gas or some people who put a Stillen intake on their cars had it too.

I’m no expert, but the TCM issue would have nothing to do with detonation. Poor acceleration? If you count your automatic transmission slipping, then, yes.

If you don’t have an aftermarket intake and have been using exclusively premium fuel, take that thing in and get it checked out. Detonation can screw up your engine in the long-term.


BTW, I think I heard injector cleaners were a no-no.
