Hint: Search google groups (http://groups.google.com) on the matter. These type of discussions have occurred (flame-fests included) again and again over the years. I'm currently trying Amsoil P.I., but I've heard BG44K (or some highly concentrated version of it) is what a lot of mechanics use in those "professional fuel & induction system cleaning" procedures you see at some shops... (i.e. they pump it right through the fuel rail & injectors, although they make a less concentrated version that can go in the fuel tank)

BG44k is without a doubt the best fuel system cleaner on the market. I tried many products over the years for cars that have suffered from pinging at high mileage and although the Techron helped some, the BG44K cured the problems.

I've been looking into this myself lately and from what I have read I agree that BG44K is the best.

For some reason I couldn't find anyone that sells it online. Where does everyone get it from?

Thanks. I sure hope you didn't just find that in a matter of minutes. I did find the first link but was looking for a source to order online and I didn't find your other two links. Maybe I have to brush up on my searching skills. Anyway, thanks again.

Damn!!! I searched under BG44K as "one word" and my results weren't as good.

Alright, I have another question. My car has 7500 miles and I just used Chevron Techron for the first time about 200 miles ago. When should I use the BG44K?

Every 10-12K, using Chevron only for gas you could even go to 15k.

Doesnt appear so. Even including shipping, $7 or so, its still on par with other vendors price before shipping !

I was thinking about getting some trusty STP Complete Fuel Treatment, but for $10 extra, I will take my chances and buy this stuff. It appears to be a commercial grade fuel treatment cleaner.

I just ordered a can... I don't think I've put a bottle of injector cleaner in my car in the last 15k miles so I wouldn't be suprised if I felt a difference. Thanks for the reccomendation, honestly, just about any car care product an org member says is good, I'll try at least once.

Did anyone use the BG 44K cleaner yet? I just popped it in. It is way "thicker" or denser than the STP $15 crap! Hopefully it will clear out most of the gunk, although I really can't say that I have any complaints from my car. I got one for my bro's RSX, it should be more evident running in his car.

I'll post feedback soon.

Anywayz, I rev it hard now to get a good strong flow, that will hopfully clean the injectors...

Any feedback from anyone on MPG, or performance after using this stuff?...

i paid 15 bucks if my memory serves me correctly. i cant say that i noticed a big difference bc my car has had a few additions (headers, MAF, new power valve gaskets) around the same time i poured that stuff in.

I buy it at a toyota dealership close to my house. I have only used it on my toyota truck on the recommendation of a toyota mechanic friend of mine. It works great. I recentaly purchased a can that I intended to use on my 97 maxima, but I read on the manual that it is not recommended to use any cleaners because they may cause damage to the injector systems. Can anyone shed any light on this?

if i recall correctly, that was part of the stink. the manual says that fuel injector cleaners can do more harm than good, but some dealers do the service for $$$$ that's all they're doing, albeit in sometimes more concentrated and direct form.

Half full, pour it in... then immediately fill up the rest of the tank.

use this stuff:

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/wyattar...44kfuelsys.html

it looks much more "dense" than the Pep boys $15 crap...

That fact is this stuff doesn't cost more than $15 when bought online and BG 44K is what most dealers use, of all makes. They just have all the equipment and products that BG makes to do the job correctly on cars with heavy build up. If used in the gas tank every 10-15K you won't have any heavy build up...

Please read what BG has to say, and don't use off the shelf crap from an auto parts store. And if you have +40k on your car it's not a bad idea to have a shop do a full fuel system clean. It doesn't have to be a high priced dealer there are many shops around that can do this for much less.

Bio call Midway Automotive 770-475-6366.
