DAAAAAAAMN it!
Fuking landscape truck was blocking numerous garages at my complex, but only partially blocking mine when I went to leave for work. So, I try to back out scootching over as far as possible and I can't make it, since my garage is BARELY big enough for the Maxima backing straight in/out. The driver sees me and says he'll move the rig. He pulls forward and I quickly give it some gas. Then *CRUNCH*. Oh sheit that was NOT good. Fuking breaking fiberglass/plastic crunch sound. So, I turn around and had managed to clip the last 1cm of my mirror on the wall of the garage, since I had originally scootched over. Somehow I turned around so fast at the sound I actually saw my mirror being torn off backwards as I hit the brakes. I thought about it for a second, pulled forward, yanked the mirror back towards me and backed out cussing myself out on my 1.3mile drive to work. I noticed some wires or something hanging out, so I figured I had just ripped out the power wires and needed a whole new housing plus paint.
From a previous car(Ford Probe GT) that some jackazz hit with his car door and broke the corner off the housing, I spent $300-$400ish for parts and paint, so I pretty much figured I'm saying bye-bye to $500 for a dumb 2-second mistake.
I get to work...pull on the mirror and find out to my PLEASANT surprise it actually FOLDS BACKWARDS. I knew if folded in like pretty much any car I've owned, however I've never noticed one bending BOTH ways. Luckily, the "wires" hanging was some dumb insulation that I just tore. Only damage was a small white scuff mark on the black plastic lip of the mirror.
Thank you Nissan for designing a mirror with IDIOT drivers in mind.

Lucky You!!!!
I had my max setting on my street and my neighbor came down with his car and hit mirror to mirror and ripped mine completely off!!!!
I was
to say the least but nothing major i am pretty handy so i began to take my door panel off and removed the mirror housing and it has 3 screws that had stripped the plastic inside the housing screwed them back in and everything has been cool.
Guy gave me $200 to have it fixed...

I was backing into my garage once in my 89 maxima (R.I.P.) and i hit my mirror on the outside edge of my garage. It bent backwards and I was like ****!! But I just got out and bent it back and it was good as new. absolutely no damage whatsoever, and that was how I learned the mirrors went the other way...
