Can't seem to find reference to this by a search, so hopefully someone can answer it real quick....Just installed a frankencar with Apexi filter....love it, can definitely feel the difference and love the sound....only one annoying thing....immediately after pressing the pedal lightly (at pretty much any rpm) there is a kind of squeal/whistling sound that goes away as you give it more gas. Is this due to the filter, intake, or what? And is there any way to get rid of this sound....Pretty sure I installed eveything correctly. Thanks in advance for any help!

 

That's 100% normal. Nothing to worry about.

The whistle is caused by the air coming into your intake. There really is no way to get rid of it without some ingenious modifications.

 

thanks...that's what i figured, but just wanted to be sure.....just not used to the "whine", that's all...and now I want to turn down the music to hear the roar of the engine, and hear the whine too.....guess ill get used to it

 

its sounds like a turbo...so i dont mind it

 

yeah dude, that sounds almost the same as my turbo just not as loud... :P ... since I used to have a frankencar/jwt popcharger intake.

 

yeah lol. with turbo you also hear the whistle when you let off the gas, with the intake its only when it sucks air

its all good though

 

don't mind it, just different...the mean sound it makes at WOT makes up for anything else...hell the intake could screa "f-- you" and it would be worth it.
