None will crack your springs. I say go Tokico Blues.

I say GR2, but that is only because I own them, so it's an opinion riding heavily on bias. Unless you get responses from people who have had both, with the same springs and every other variable unchanged, you will receive biased opinions which will not really help you decide. What helped me decide was exactly what I just described: tons of opinions, mostly saying that GR2's were the better buy. In any case, good luck with the search for truth

KYB GR2's are a firm strut

Tokico Blues are softer and will give you more of a factory like ride.

Figure out what YOU want and purchase accordingly.

If you take into cosideration what njmaxseltd said, you should get the GR2s. A firmer strut controls the higher spring rate associated with the Maxspeeds.

I've got GR2's with my Tein springs. They seem ok, although I've never tried Tokico Blues. I got 'em after finding the same results as LithiuMax

i want a shock that will give me a somewhat factory ride... however a little stiffer and will help the drop... is there a difference in drop with difference shock?
people are tellin me different stuff and i'm confused.. but i'm leaning more towards tockico..
anymore opinions?

The shocks are all the same size. There is no difference in ride height with different shocks. The ride height changes with the springs. HR and Maxspeed springs will give you the closest to stock ride and about a 1.5" drop.

IMO GR2s are the way to go as far as shocks go with either the HRs or Maxspeeds.

Maxspeeds and GR2s will only put you out $380ish dollars!

Keep in mind, the bigger the drop the stiffer the ride will be.

I am in the same situation. I would like to hear from someone who has had both (Although that will be rare since we all drive pretty much new cars). My stock struts are getting a little squishy and I think it is time to replace them. I want what everyone wants, full control without a harsh ride and unfortunately it usually boils down to one or the other. For me I would rather give up some control for a softer ride.

BTW, I have read other posts that said the Tokicos were harsher than the GR2's. Sorry to make this thread even more confusing.

I too am trying to buy some springs/ shocks. I've been reading up on opinions for a while and still cant make a decision. Thing is I think the stock ride is pretty smooth and I'm happy with it, but that ugly ase gap has gotta go. Seems like everyone favors the H&R / GR2 combination, but I'm still confused.

I have almost a 2" drop with Sprints and Tokico's on a 235-40-18 tire. My ride is sporty and firm in the corners but at the same time is not real harsh on the bumps (unless they are big bumps). I have not a single complaint about my Tokicos...

I was wondering if I got the Gr-2's would they compensate for taking the rear suspension bar off? I would like to if the rear end waggling is compensated for by the shocks. Wishful thinking?

Sprints are rough riding springs.

Look at Maxspeeds, Teins, H&R's. If you want sporty, Progress and Eibachs.

For those with aftermarket struts, have you had 3 people across the backseat and driven on bumpy roads? I just want to make sure my stock struts are dead before I go buy new ones. Christmas is coming up and I have already dropped a ton of cash on everyone else.

I was advised by other members that you should replace the stock struts if you lower your car due to that stock struts can't handle the aftermarket spring rate.
