Got New Front Clear Markers Today
#1
I went to Auto Dynamic today to buy rear clear markers and the guy there says, "Guess what, I just got a shipment of front clear markers less than an hour ago. Do you want a pair?" The fronts were $40 and the rears $30 (maybe he gouged me for the fronts since I looked excited.) These fronts seem to have some kind of drainage tube attached? Possibly to prevent condensation? Here's their website. It may not be on their website yet so you may have to call.

I don't see anything on the front clears on the site. Can you give me the number? I'd sure would like to buy some if they really DO make them. If they DO make them, I hope they have the "bulge" like the stock corners.

They really do make them because I bought some. They look identical to the stock markers on the outside. It's the same size and has the same bulge. The ones I bought were made in Taiwan. Maybe Nissan marks up the price?

I just checked online and they even have a pic of them.
I just ordered them online, and it states on their website that they have them in stock. So we will hopefully see what happens, the total was about 46.00 for inside U.S. but outside California.

In a word, yes . . . PROVIDED they don't collect condensation. That issue remains to be seen.

I know some of you have been having condensation problems with the rear clears. I noticed the same fitting in the back of my rear clears where a u-tube would attach. If you look through the fitting, however, there is no hole going into the air space within the assembly. I wonder if drilling a small hole through this fitting (or through the back of the assembly) would eliminate the condensation problem for the rear clears?

Legal?
Is there anything on the package these front side markers come in to warn people that not having an amber reflector on the front/side of your car is illegal?
Most companies post warnings / disclaimers that "This product is for show purposes only and should not be used while driving."
From what I have read it is illegal in every state to not have an amber reflector on the front-side of your car.
I like the look of the clear markers but I am not sure I want to take a chance. I hate to burst bubbles, but if you have these clear lenses and you are in an accident....YOU might be found liable for not making your vehicle fully visable to other drivers.

i agree with warrlocked
all question are legitimate and if you don't think that the question applied to you , you shouldn't have replied to it so offensively, plus everyone has their own right to ask wutever questions they want, thats why its a forum. people ask questions in here because they either are not sure of certain issue or they want others opinions, so please respect others opinions and comments.

To the people that have bought the clear front markers: Is there a disclaimer on the package saying that the lenses are for show purposes only? Would the amber bulbs make them leagal?

Concerning the warnings...
I know that the box my REAR clears came in did state they were for "off road/show" use only. I know many of the aftermarket bulbs that we all buy are also not "street legal". Dark or Limo windows tints we all have, in most states beyond a certain percentage are illegal. Driving faster than the speed limit is illegal. Packages of cigarettes carry warnings that they cause cancer and other nasty things, but people still smoke 'em. I guess the point is that most people don't really care about the warnings anyway, and will do as they please. I'm sure we are all guilty of at least one of the above items, so we all must understand the consequences of our actions and accept them on an individual basis. To each his own. However, I believe making fun of another poster because you disagree with his opinion or the point that was made is not what we are here to do on these forums.

Here's my question....
If you DO put them on and you DO get a ticket…
1. Is it a fix-it ticket (i.e., change within ten days or pay fine) or a "you now have to pay $XX" ticket?
2. Is this a Moving violation? Or no?
I would have no problem breaking this law, as long as my insurance doesn’t go up because of it. I need to save my defensive driving for the real tickets.
