Bose 6CD Head Unit Skips

I just had the head unit replaced for the third time in an 02 Max SE. I was very disappointed to find out from the dealer's service department that the player was manufactured by Clarion. Dealer has replaced the unit, without question, each time. Anyone else running into the same problem?

How bad is it skipping?

I've had my BOSE skip a few times when going over a rough road/pothole/speed bump, and I just start the track all over again. At least it works for me.
