Making a FTSB

Hello people

I have a question for y'all. My brother-in-law owns a tool and die shop here and I would like to know if anyone has the specs for a FTSB. I don't want to copy anyone's style, but if you have them, or know a link that does, could you please help?

Thanks

NK

Kudos for trying to come up with this on your own, but don't you think thats alot of work for something you can buy for under $50?

I agree, BUT I live in Canada, and your $50 becomes $150 after shipping, exchange, duty and brokers fees! And a stillen FTSB sells here for $300!!! So I guess a little bit of aggrivation might be worth it!

I did a search for specs on the Stillen version FSTB, but was unable to come up with any definative information in regards to measurements, diagrams, etc. Any other Maxima owners in your area that have a similar FSTB that you could get those details from?

hi there: Are you really sure the US$50 stuff being shipped to Canada would end up with $150 (CDN $) ? Let's assume US$20 ship'g, 1.3 ex-rate, getting to CAD$91, that compute to CAD$59 for the 'duty/Broker fee'--- very significant !
I live in Toronto as well and want to buy some stuffs from the States, this kind of duty/broker craps really brutal, do you happen to know the formules or guidelines to calculate the duty/broker charges ? I definitely don't want to buy a stuff advertised at US$50 and end up paying the bill at US$ 120 (or CAD$150). I'd hope to share this shopping experience from you. Thanks a lot for your help.

Check the for sale items on the org... these come up fairly frequently used for a good price.

Damn, you guys are Brutal.... give the guy a break...maybe he just wants a slick-looking custom FSTB. Hey if it looks nice and fits I'll give you 50 bucks for one! But I won't pay $100 shipping, canadian or american !!

See, my argument is twofold, yes I want to save moolah, but I also want a nice looking piece of equipment!

As for customs formalities, I have a connection on the inside (a family member is a Customs Officer) and he tells me that any product, valued LESS than $20 Canadian is tax and duty free. Duty is zero from the US, and 5% if from China or Japan. Add 7% GST (federal tax) and 8% provincial tax + $25 UPS broker fee. (Canada Post only charges $5)

so if a $50USD FSTB (assume Made in China) @ 1US = 1.33 CDN

Value for Duty = $66.50 (A)
Duty =3.33 (1)

Value for GST is (A) + (1) = 69.83 (B)
GST = 4.89 (2)

Value for PST is (B) + (2)= 74.24 (C)
PST = 5.97 (3)

Total payable to Customs (1) + (2) + (3) = 14.19
UPS brokerage fee $25

Total is 105.69 (NOT INCLUDING SHIPPING) or 59% more than when you started off at! My Customs officer family member did the calculations, and it makes you cringe how much the government and UPS are making!
