Well I did the fog rewire on my car, (2000), and everythign was going great. But now my fogs wont turn on anymore. I think its a blown fuse, but im not sure where to check or if its even a fuse. Anyone with help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Dont remember if the fuse is underhood ou under dash, check them all. But first check all the relays, when you tapped into the orange wire you might have one not all the way in. Are your parking lights on?

yeah the corner (parking lights) work. its strictly the fogs. im thinking its the fuse...so i should just check all of them to see if ones blown? would that most likely be the problem?

what can go wrong when the fogs can turn on by themselves with no parking lights or main headlights?

ok, i checked my fuses, i checked where it says RR Fog lamp, however, there wasnt even a fuse there. I put in a spare fuse, but my fog lights still didnt work. I checked all the fuses by the battery, but all seemed fine. Has anyone had this problem so far? Could it possibly be my relay? thanks again

That RR fog is probably a blank. rear(red) fogs are common if not required in Europe. So that is not the one, keep looking.

so it could be a fuse completely not related to the fogs causing the problem? lets say like one for A/C?

Real simple way to test if its a fuse. Test the wire that sends 12v to the fog light. If it doesnt read 12v while the car is on and the fogs are on then its a fuse. If u get 12v then its your bulbs... possibly blown from turning on and off frequently.

And yes it could be just a weird fuse connected to something else. I install radios for a shop, and most of the time the problem turns out to be a weird fuse that has nothing to do with the radio fuse. Just take a meter and put the car in accessory and test each side of the fuse if u get 12v on one side and nothin on the other its blown... or just pull out each fuse and look.

I doubt they both blew at the same time. The culprit is most likely his wiring job he just did. Check all your connections.

it probably is the wiring i did, I ghetto-rigged it badly, lets just say I used electrical tape for everything, no wire taps used. Could that reallly be the cause?

well, i checked every fuse, re-did my connections, and the fogs are still not working. The parking lights work fine, but not the fogs. I can hear the relay clicking when I turn on the fogs, but nothign comes on. Im guessing I either blew the bulbs, or the relay is screwed. someone please help! thanks

Ya did not blow the bulbs. Giving them significantly more than 14V is impossible and a short circuit wont do it because a bulb is really a short circiut anyway. If you hear the clicking of the relay, the coil side of the relay is ok. you could have blown the output side of the relay, or burnt a wire, or wired it wrong. I recall some of the relays are the same, try swaping one with another (make sure same numbers). Then if that fails you need to get a test light or voltmeter and trace it forward or backward.
What you can use for a tester, go to auto parts and buy a parking/corner socket with pig tail wires. put a bulb in. This will probably cost you $3. One wire keep at chasis ground andwith the other work backward or forward to find your missing hot circuit.
It still could be a blown fuse, it may not say fog. it could be on something else.
Sometimes it is really hard to see a blown fuse. A really bright light helps. a continuity tester is better.
