changed drive belt/ questions

finally got around to changing the drive belt this weekend, seemed pretty easy one question though:
Now when I start the car up I get a loud squeel for about 10 seconds then it goes away. Why is that? Its not deflecting more than 90 degrees, do you guys thing I should tighten it more?

I had the same thing when I changed to a UDP. What I did from the point you are, I tightened it a tiny bit each night and on the third day no squeal. This way you are only tightening it as tight as it needs to be.

its because it is a new belt. get some belt dressing and spray it on the belts when car is running. will go right away.

Please, no belt dressing on a new belt. If it squeals, it is not tight enough in most cases. Belt dressing will only make a mess in the engine compartment.
