02' PCV valve location?

Can someone please post a picture of its location? I am in need to change it soon...got the part here but couldn't find it! This thread had been posted before but no direction or picture of it. Again, this is for the 02'-03' Maxima, not the VQ3.0 motor. Thanks ahead.

common sence it should be hooked up to the tb and valve cover. I heard it is under the intake. I would like to too for furture refence.

When should the PVC valve be replaced??? I have a 02 w/ 35000 miles and I'm thinking it should be time soon, if not already....

Thanks for the picture! I've just check the part number on the PCV valve that I got from Courtesy-Nissan. Apparently they had sent me the wrong one.

The one that I got was a plastic pull out type, not the metal screw one. That was why I had such a hard time locating it in the first place!

You're welcome. I hate it when I get the wrong part. Some parts guys try to blow smoke by telling you "it crosses over to this part number." Some of them are so fullofsh*t.

I'm about to order my PCV valve from Courtesy NIssan. What is the correct part #?? Their website says the 2K2 uses the 11810-8J101...is this correct???

I find it strange that they show pictures of the oil pan drain plug and washer but no pic of the PCV valve.

Yes, you missed it. I had to email it to VMaximus02 because I don't have any webhosting. My Spyblocker software won't load the website. I can email it to you if you need it.

Yes, once you loosen the clamp and slide the hose off, you remove the PCV valve with a socket. It will have pipe threads on the bottom of the PCV valve. The color of my car looks different in different lighting conditions. In sunlight, it looks more greenish than bluish.

No problem. Anytime I can take something, I'm willing to do it.It looks easier than it was on my former 92 SE. Just make sure you protect your fender when you work in that area. Unless you have hands like a Bear claw, it should be very accessible.

how can you tell if you need to replace it or not? I have 48K miles and have never replaced it.

You have to remove it to check it. The valve should suck vacuum from the intake manifold when the engine is idling. When you shake the valve in your hand, it should have a rattle sound from the inside of the valve. That would indicate it is free to work and not clogged up or stuck.
Per the Nissan service manual, "with engine running at idle, remove PCV valve from rocker cover. A properly working valve makes a hissing noise as air passes through it. A strong vacuum should be felt immediatley when a finger is placed over the valve inlet."

My dealer gave me part # 11810-8J102 as the PCV for my '02 Max w/ 6-spd.

Any idea if that is correct? I see my part number is off by one number from what others have said in this thread. My part number ends in 2 versus 1.

Thanks for the photo.

My dealer supposed to replace the PCV valve per 30K service, but they didn't (did not show part on receipt) so when I asked about it, they gave me a run around saying that it's actually directly beneath the intake manifold and that it would cost me additional 4 hrs ($70/hr x 4) to get that replaced.

What a bunch of scammers.
