2k Auto Tranny Noise

Ok, so I have a 2k stock. Auto tranny. It has 61k on it and I bought it used.

There is a definate transmission whine, but not something that someone would notice right off the bat, but it's there. I had no transmission whine at all on my 96 Max. Just curious if the 2k Max's auto tranny makes noise and I gotta get used to it or I should go get it checked out (got a warrenty when I bought the car.)

Oh, and I checked the fluid, it's still nice and red, no burn smell to it. I did a drain and fill about 1k ago.

It whines through all gears. The best comparisson I can make is it sounds exactly like the tranny whine that was in my parents old van, which was normal for that van. Just didn't think it was normal for a Max.

i take that back...i do have a whine now that you mention it. i noticed it again today.

never given it much thought though - i've always assumed it was from my intake or fuel injectors or something like that.

it does it anytime you hit the gas. i can really tell it at low speeds - you can hear the difference when you let off and then apply the gas.

Heh, welp, then I guess that is relatively normal, ok, as long as it isn't the tranny dieing on me.
