Question about Cutting SE Stock Springs!
Is this recommended or not. Does anyone, other than a few people in Atlanta, ever cut their stock maxima-SE springs on a 5th gen. I saw this
on a fourth gen. This guy from the carribean lowered 3 fourth gens SE's by cutting the springs around 1.25 off the rear and 1.875 off of the front.
I rode in one of his customers cars. It rides and behaves a little softer than the aftermarket springs would make it an the guy who owns the car say it works great for him although he changed the shocks to Toikco, an he's got sway bars with 18X8 Fondmetal 9X's. Looks good too.
My question is has anyone cut springs on a 5th gen SE? is it recommended or not?
By The Way! I'm not a Newbie. My user name is i•maxx, but I can't seem to remember to password since this site design changed. So I'll use Code•MaxX for a while.

The reason you should never cut springs is because a cut spring does not seat properly in it's perch.
Thats what makes it dangerous.
Springs are designed to seat centered around your strut and apply load to the upper and lower perch evenly. Cutting them upsets that design.
