you have i/e plus vb mod "that's all" (on top of ecu)...that's already enough to be pushing a 350z envelope... all you need now is either hs headers or a set of slicks

yeah, mine is auto but it feels like 5 speed. u just have to get use to the hard first shift . now with the ecu, youll get your first shift up to 7100rpm or about 40 to 45 miles before it shifts to 2nd. it is awesome man! now i can tell u i really super love my max. next mob is dvd plus indash lcd.

i got my vb from jeff for 300.00 plus the ecu for 495.00. thats it. it worth it.

the answer to the warranty thing is in the technosquare thread... according to TS nissan can not figure out the ecu was modded.

Na, the stock valvetrain can handle about 7500rpms before floating. There are a ton of us 4th geners using 7000-7200rpm JWT ECUs without any problems. The crank, pistons, etc are in the 3.0 VQ can spin to 8000rpms. The 3.5 VQ may not be as high rpm friendly as the 3.0 VQ, but either way the 7000rpm limiter should be fine.

My only issue with the 7000rpm limiter on the Maxima/Altima 3.5 VQ is that these motors don't breath near as well after 5500rpms as the G/350Z 3.5 VQs due to the difference in intake manifolds. The Maxima/Altima 3.5 VQ pretty much runs out of steam with power dropping off hard at 5800-6100rpms depending on which dyno you look at. IMO, the autos will probably benefit more from the 7000rpm limiter than the 6 speeds due to the long legged nature of thier gearing.

i got it for free w/ jeff
about the warranty, this mod make your tranny last longer than stock. all hesitation has been taken care by the ecu upgrade. dont worry, how often you take your car for tranny problem. i had a 1990 maxima auto and never had a problem w/ tranny. it also had the vb mod. i sold the car last year in order to get the new one but nissan maxima tranny are really good.
