people with 02-03 maxima step in
All I can say is that my 03 or 350 donot idle no where near as smooth as my old 01 and 97. The Max idles in drive at 700 rpm when warm and in park its at 750. Since day one I can feel way more vibration in the wheel with the 3.5's vs the 3.0's, when Nissan bored it out alot of the smoothness went away IMO

2k2PhatMax, you'll need to use colsult II to adjust idle

thast weird i have no intake or greddy or cattman y YET but my idle seems to be under 500 maybe closer to 300 or 200 to me

i want a new motor. i could have done a motor swap almost 2 times if i wouldnt have bought those headers. for some strange reason they dont work on my car.
i have almost 60k and drive pretty hard. new motors have been purchased for ~800. wouldnt be bad to have a extra engine and add some goodies before i drop it. just thinking.....

you guys who are saying it takes 15 minutes for your engine idle to go from 1200 to 700-ish... are you letting it run for 15 just sitting there, or do you warm it up like you're supposed to?
steps to properly warm up your non-snow-covered car...
1. open door
2. sit
3. close door
4. start car
5. fasten seat belt
6. adjust radio
7. DRIVE SLOWLY. After approx 1-2 miles the engine will be "warm".
if your car has snow on it you can start it and scrap/clean then drive.

after i put my UDP on... if i let my car idle it drops to around 600 give or take ... and its real rough....the SES light comes on too... but after a few starts and me not letting it idle low... it goes off... go figure...

I don't know about that. I usually let the car warms up for about 3 minutes and then go slow before entering the highway.

letting the car sit for 3 minutes does nothing but waste 2:45 seconds worth of gas. Everything has started moving after the first 15 seconds or so and you get ZERO mpg while your car is sitting idle.
it won't hurt your car to sit for 3 minutes, but it won't help, either.
