Clutch

I'm still getting used to the clutch in my car, having it for little over a week now. I notice that to start the car the clutch pedal must be firmly planted on the floor (almost a click type feel when its there), however for the clutch to disengage I only have to push it down slightly to the floor. Some times It feels as though it only goes into some gears (1st and 2nd, mainly) if it is all the way on the floor. During normal driving I seem not to have to put it all the way down and it shifts fine.

Am I damaging something or during something bad to it by not putting the pedal all the way down to the floor every shift? Not only is the throw really long but it has plenty of soft play from the top almost to half the way down to the floor.

Your clutch sounds normal to me. I always push it to the floor. Granted it may not NEED to go all the way down -but I was taught that way many years ago and feel its good insurance.
