Noise from A/c vents
I get a hissing noise from the A/C vents of my 2k1 maxima when I turn on the heat . I called the mechanic , he told me that it could be some object stuck in the vent and that they have to clean the vents and would cost me $100 . Is it easy to do it on my own ?

Does the noise go away when you go from heat to cool? Does the noise level increase when you turn the AC up?
Never had the experience with my Max, but by 97 Mailbu was notorious for sucking leaves into the blower fan, but it would usually come out one of the vents after a while.

it would only be an expensive repair because of the labor involved-I am pretty sure that whole intake section under the wiper blades has to be removed and they gotta take all the shiet outta there...
its time more than anything else...
been there, done that

Its probably not relavant, I noticed when I washed my in-cabin filter, I got some noise coming from the blower. Re-seating the filter got rid of the noise....There's also a TSB for whiring coming from the blower motor....
ALSO, prior to reinserting the filter, I turn up the fan speed to max, I was surprised to see how much garbage flew out....
