White Plastic Below intake

So what is the white plastic (looks like a bottle or water trap of some sort) below the air intake? It hooks into the stock intake right before it goes into the air box at the bend. Was thinking of taking it out if it isn't something vital to free up some air flow.

Oh, it's right below the battery.

Only older 2Ks have that...at least not 2K1+.

It's just a resonator box to quite down the intake growl. Not sure if it would help air velocity any.

So taking that off wouldn't hurt anything at all? Sweet.

No...but the bottom of the cold air scoop is closed on 2K1s, so you *MIGHT* want to close it or better run an hose to a cold air source like the ghetto airbox mod.

Welp, the reason I mentioned it is because if I took off the white plastic part, it would look almost identical to a GAB that I saw pictures of on the org.

A true GAB has holes cut in the air box before the filter, or the top part of the filter holder.

"true"?

Pretty sure version 1.0 or maybe 2.0 doesn't.

Its a resonator box. If you disconnect it and cover up the hole, the intake noise will not increase BUT you will feel slight engine vibration at high revs near the firewall/gas pedal area.
