Quote: dude, i didn't get my max brand you, so you're the one who needs to ask questions first before making dumb conclusions like that. I do know that maxima and altima dyno the same, the price is different. The story of what you _can_ get it for is different. also, you forgot the cheap interrior thing and ugly design.

dude, you stupid or something, if i have fewer posts then you do does automaticallty make me wrong no matter what i say? Now, out of all your posts 90% is like "oh you stupid muthafreaking newbie." bro, GET A LIFE

LOL u must be stupid or something

Anyway, after researching further you are correct Blu. You do need to get as close to a 1:1 gear ratio in order to derive the optimal HP number.

That being said, the Maxima should have done a 4th gear pull:
Altima 5sp gear ratios-
3.153
1.842
1.258
0.947
0.772

Maxima 6sp
3.153
1.944
1.392
1.055
0.809
0.630

Good call, blu!

alrite, guys, this is getting ridiculous. I guess some members of the org can't take any criticism from a person with fewer posts. That's ok. I'm gonna have to end this discussion, because some people are trying to get on a personal level here for some reasons. I also want to apologize for arguing with idiots. I know, I should not have done it.
So this is it, end of discussion. If someone has something to tell me, you can PM me (if someone has something valuable to say that is, so looks like that won't happen).

Anyone how wants to glorify the Altima over the Maxima is nuts in my opinion. My GF has a 2k2 Altima, and that interior is the ugliest POS that I have seen in a long time. I wanted a sedan with Navigation, and thats not on any Atlima. As far as what these vehicles dyno , its similar. I dont care what any of these 3rd party dynos say, they are WORTHLESS. Im sorry to say, but if your a Newb......you will be treated as such. It happens to everyone.....

It all comes down to personal preference in the end, doesn't it? If I wanted more power - I could get a V6 alt, even used. Damn, I could get an old, cheap a$$ domestic V8 and be happy. You wanted a Navi, Navi is what you got.
It's that Maximas are somewhat different there, they have (well, used to have) their own sole. Not anymore unfortunately.

Dynos. Who cares?! Take 'em both on drag strip see who wins. That's what really matters.

Why don't you do that... but make sure you have about $6000 in hand when your front axle gets bent and you spin the dyno drums and snap the ropes.

The gear ratios are there as a multiplying factor in the lower gears, however a Dynojet dyno drum will calculate that ratio and return the actual numbers back to you.

I don't know why there's always that one person who continues to argue pointlessly, when I have so conveniently even referred you to the vendor themselves... and of course all my dyno experience means nothing. Geez...
