I know this might have been posted already, but I cant find it. I am planing on doing this swap, cause I cant deal with the theft anymore in NJ. My insurance is gonna drop me if I get the lights stolen again. What i really need is pics of how the ae lights look in the 02'03' body. I need information on shops that will do the swap in NJ. Also is there anyway I can trade them my HID set in exchange for payment?? It doenst have to be that way, but I would like to do that. Thanks in Advance.

 

How much would you look for in the trade?

 

somebody on this board did that swap i can't remember who. but there was a big gap between the bottom of the headlight and the top of the bumper where it is supposed to sit.. not a flush fit at all but it still was functional.

 

what do you mean exactly? As far as for someone to do it. or trading my tails for ae's?

 

I am fixing my headlights this weekend. I think I am going to pick up one of those new V6 accords.

Then I won't have to worry about my headlights again....

I will miss the max though

Oh sorry, I misread what you said. I thought you ment you would want to sell your headlights here and trade someone for their AE headlights...

Ive been reading for ages, finally signed up to be a part of it all...

One thing you may want to consider is projector retrofits. I have performed projector (honda s2000 projector) retrofits on both my honda accords (1999 and 2002 models) and am currently in the process of retrofitting lexus sc430 projectors into my 2003 max.
You can check it out at the link below. One plus side is the lighting will be better than stock maxima. Though the maxima has an adequate HID system, its really one of the worse compared to other cars with Xenon reflectors.

I have it done on mine, I don't have any close up pics though. Digi Cam coming for Christmas . I can refer you to a bodyshop who does this if you want. PM ME as soon as you read this.

There's many approaches you can take to this, that I have seen anyway.

-You can have the bodyshop replace the whole bumper and lights to a 2001, I have seen that in a few.

-You can have the bodyshop just put in the 2001 headlights.

-You can have the bodyshop put in the 2001 headlights and raise your bumper a bit, I don't know how but the bodyshop said it can be done.

I opted with just putting the lights because I have the HID's sitting at home and eventually I am going to put them back on the day before my lease is up so I can bring the car back. The bodyshop I used put in a little bit of rubber molding between the headlights and the bumper, and since my car is dark, Voila! You barely notice it.

Another option I thought about would be to put in the 2001 headlights and having a custom piece fabricated to fill the gap in made of fiberglass or whatever and than painted to match the car. I don't know but it seems like it could be easily done.
